Outdoor session based activities

Learn to ride

First timers can learn with confidence in a stress free and fun way. Great for adults looking to improve their health or for kids starting out. A domestic free solution to get you or your partner cycling.
Solo classes only. Venue of your choice.

National Standard Cycle Courses - Levels 1-3

This is a thorough look at National Cycle training and we progress at the students pace. It is advisable to phone us to talk through your requirements.

Taught individually or in groups at a venue of your choice.

All sessions last between 1hr and 1.5hrs and cost £25 per person. If you can book two or more people then each additional member is only £15! Groups of up to 6 catered for.




Day and half day courses

MTB trail centre skills

Ideal for those stepping up from road riding or looking for a more challenging experience.
Venue: Glentress.

Expedition planning

Theory based activities looking at everything from visa application to packing lists. Useful skills for all multi-day trips from school expeditions to round the world attempts.
Venue: Innerleithen - Full Day only, price includes lunch.

Bike maintenance

An informative look at roadside or trailside techniques, lots of tips on making your life easier.
Venue: Innerleithen - Full Day only, price includes lunch and use of workshop and equipment.

3 day National Standard coaching

Ideally spread over three weekends this is a great intensive course to encourage safe cycling on the roads. Covering aspects from levels 1 -3 this makes a great real life alternative to the cycling proficiency test.

Guiding

Allow a qualified guide to show you around the Border trails or roads. Why choose a guide? Well as SMBLA trained guides we carry all the knowledge and equipment to help you get the most from your day out, we also have REC first aid qualifications and come armed with plenty of local knowledge. Venue: The great outdoors.


Day courses and guiding cost £40 per half day, per person. Discounts are available for groups.
